We are looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Manager, Finance to oversee key financial functions, ensuring the smooth operation of our projects and financial systems.
Job Purpose:
As a Assistant Manager, Finance, you will be responsible for handling project-related matters, managing taxation, preparing monthly management reports, and overseeing fixed assets. Your role will also include ensuring accurate month-end closing procedures and supporting the organization’s financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit & Tax Support:
- Prepare necessary documentation for external and internal audits and tax queries, and liaise with auditors.
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Conduct financial analyses, including variance analysis, to provide insights into financial performance.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitor actual performance against budgeted figures.
- Manage month-end closing procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Cash & Fixed Assets Management:
- Oversee cash management, monitor cash balances, and optimize working capital.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, conduct regular reconciliations, and ensure accurate asset depreciation.
Accounts Payable Supervision:
- Manage and oversee the Accounts Payable team, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal control systems.
Financial Compliance & Audits:
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and cash flow statements, and ensure all revenue and expenses are accurately reflected.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and tax laws to ensure compliance.
Process Improvement:
- Implement SOPs to improve processes and maintain robust internal control systems.
- Conduct impairment tests to ensure assets reflect their true value and support fixed asset tagging projects.
Collaboration:
- Answer department head queries related to departmental P&L.
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional Qualification: MIA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of working experience in accounting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (JDE or equivalent) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
