Job Responsibilities
Consolidation and monthly tasks
- Preparation of consolidation adjustments for actual, forecast and budget.
- Performs consolidation proofing, e.g. forex proofing, NCI proofing.
- Assist in preparation/review of workings for monthly reporting deck.
- Review entities’ management accounts as submitted to consolidation via sanity checks and highlight errors to entities’ accountants.
Quarterly and annual reporting
- Update Group quarterly/yearly Instruction (including GFA pack) for issuance to entities.
- Prepare quarterly report workings/sub-schedules and update Bursa Malaysia condensed quarterly report.
- Prepare reports for approval of Audit Committee and Board of Directors on quarterly basis (e.g. non-audit fee, related party transactions, etc).
- Prepare consolidation workings of selected notes in the group audited financial statements and assist in drafting the overall group financial statements.
- Annual report - overall checking of annual report to the audited financial statements and update List of Properties of the Group.
- Liaise with external auditors and provide information and documents required for audit purposes.
Other accounting / ad-hoc matters and maintenance of consolidation system
- Assist in updating and rolling out working templates and ensuring BPC system are updated for changes to MFRS/policies; assist entities accountants on issues faced relating to consolidation pack/BPC system and ensure BPC Consol system rules, ownership and translation are performing as expected.
- Assist on ad-hoc exercises, e.g. in computing the financial impact on acquisition, liquidation, disposal or divestment of subsidiaries/JV/associates, if any.
- Assist in attending to enquiries from other internal departments, management and external parties on consolidated financials.
Education/Professional Qualification
- Degree in accounting with/currently pursuing professional qualification (MIA, ACCA, ICAEW, CPA or equivalent).
Professional Experience
- Minimum 3-4 years working experience
- Experience working in the consolidation team, or audit experience with client portfolio of investment holding with group consolidation
- Degree in accounting with/currently pursuing professional qualification (MIA, ACCA, ICAEW, CPA or equivalent)
- Works well under pressure and agile under changing circumstances.
The following related experiences are an added advantage, although not a must:
- Experience in property development
- Experience working in a listed company
- Familiarity with BPC system
- Experience in Big4 accounting firm
