Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assists with the drafting, review and negotiate commercial contracts, letters and various legal documents, ensuring they are meticulously tailored to meet specific business needs and regulatory requirements. The primary focus would be on legal, finance and business considerations associated with those commercial transactions.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to a wide range of legal queries, conducting thorough research to provide well-founded answers and guidance on these inquiries.
  • Lead and drive the development and implementation of new legal policies to align with business goals.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the strategies and objectives of the business to provide legal advice that supports and enhances business operations
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, articulating the risks and legal implications involved in business decisions, ensuring that they are fully informed to make sound judgements.
  • Understand and keep abreast of changes to relevant laws and regulations, which includes, without limitation, the Companies Act 2016, Bursa Malaysia Main Market Listing Requirements and the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance.
  • Review, comment, verify and finalise the corporate information and the relevant reports and contents for the annual report ESG
  • Assist in the implementation of the company’s ESG Framework, initiatives and incorporate sustainability practices into the company’s operation strategies, and coordinate stakeholder engagement on sustainability matters.
  • Manage ESG questionnaires and liaise with external parties in relation to respective ESG requirements and/or ESG rating outcomes.
  • Review, comment, verify and finalise the company’s annual Sustainability report.
  • Stay abreast on the standards, guidelines and requirements required for the ESG reporting as well as ESG outlook.

Qualification: Education/Experience:

  • A qualified legal professional with approximately 5-7 years of experience, spanning both private practice and in-house settings.
  • Well versed with Corporate/Commercial Law, Employment Law, Intellectual Property, Contract Law, with a strong ability to apply this expertise to a variety of legal scenarios and business contexts.
  • Experience in the ESG as well as the newly imposed Bursa Common Sustainability Matters will be added advantage.
  • Exhibit strong communication, analytical and commercial skills, with a collaborative and innovative mindset showing enthusiasm for an inclusive and diverse work environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, fostering productive relationships with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders.
