MANAGER, LEGAL

Job Objective

The Manager, Legal is responsible to assist the Head of Group Legal Department on all legal matters within the Group.

Primary Tasks

  • Provide legal advice and assistance on matters related to construction, manufacturing projects, property development, contractual issues, and litigation.
  • Manage and handle legal tasks such as drafting, reviewing, and finalizing legal documents including letters, agreements, memorandums, etc.
  • Assess legal risks to the business, identify major risks in contracts, and provide advisory on best practices and measures to be undertaken by the Group.
  • Liaise with external solicitors regarding the progress of litigation matters and other legal issues handled by external partners.
  • Secondary Tasks

  • Update and educate the Management and respective divisions/departments/business units on changes in laws or acts pertinent to their operations.
  • Present and articulate legal policies to the Management and all other relevant divisions, departments, and business units.
  • Support the Head, Legal in administrative tasks and coordination as required.
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law with Honours (LLB (Hons)) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 7 years of working experience in a related field.
  • Proven expertise in corporate commercial law, litigation, with both local and international exposure.
  • Proficient knowledge in Company Law, construction, manufacturing, contract laws, court regulations, and other laws relevant to the Group's business activities
  • Skills

  • Independent and analytical thinker.
  • Sound knowledge over corporate commercial law and litigation matters.
  • Sound knowledge of risk assessment and contract review.
