Job Purpose

The position supports initiatives within the IT cyber defense domain which centers around technical controls.

Responsibilities include monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security alerts to identify and mitigate potential cyber threats.

The role requires learning and utilizing technical tools to support both operational and project-based tasks in security operations and engineering.

Effective communication and strong time management skills are essential to handle multiple tasks, allowing focus on assigned priorities efficiently.

Key Accountabilities

The position supports global initiatives related to IT and Information Security Cyber Defense area through the following:

  • Perform required security engineering tasks, assessing security events to identify and prioritize addressing potential security risks and vulnerabilities
  • Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and recovery efforts, as needed.
  • Collaborate across teams and departments to assist in the gathering of necessary information and documentation
  • Participate in cyber defense team meetings, required training, and performing assigned duties.
  • Engage the opportunity to learn and use tools, such as SIEM, SASE, and network security tools, to deploy and support the fulfillment of security capabilities.
  • Assist in supporting assigned remediation efforts through research, operational, and project work
  • Support the standardization of security processes toward automation by assisting in developing documentation such as run books and playbooks.

Qualification

Working towards a bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field and/or corresponding experience in the necessary knowledge and skills of the position.
