Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare, analyse, and present financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure all financial data is accurate, complete, and in compliance with relevant accounting standards and firm policies.
  • Client Billing and Invoicing: Oversee the billing process, ensuring that all client invoices are accurate, timely, and compliant with client agreements. Manage billing cycles, resolve discrepancies, and handle any client queries related to invoicing.
  • Accounts Receivable Management: Monitor and manage accounts receivable to ensure timely collections. Implement effective strategies to minimise outstanding balances, follow up with clients for overdue payments, and negotiate payment plans where necessary.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in developing and managing the firm's annual budget, including revenue and expense forecasting. Track actual performance against budget, analyse variances, and provide insights to senior management to support financial planning.
  • Financial Compliance and Auditing: Ensure all financial transactions comply with local laws, regulations, and the firm's internal policies. Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process and implement recommendations as necessary.
  • Cost Management: Monitor and control firm-wide expenses to ensure cost-efficiency. Analyse cost structures, identify areas for savings, and implement cost-control measures to maintain profitability.
  • Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow management, ensuring the firm maintains adequate liquidity to meet its obligations. Prepare cash flow projections, manage short-term financing needs, and optimise cash management practices.
  • Tax Planning and Compliance: Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with all tax regulations. Prepare tax filings, identify tax-saving opportunities, and address any tax-related inquiries or audits.
  • Financial Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Leverage technology to automate and streamline financial operations, including billing, reporting, and expense management.
  • Stakeholder Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for senior management, partners, and stakeholders. Provide insights on financial performance, trends, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making.
  • Internal Controls and Risk Management: Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the firm's assets and ensure the integrity of financial data. Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboration with Practice Groups: Work closely with practice group leaders to provide financial insights and support for their respective areas, ensuring alignment with the firm's overall financial objectives.
