IT Infrastructure Engineer

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing comprehensive support for server operations, including Wintel, Unix/Linux, and virtual environments (RHV & ESXi). This role involves managing servers and storage systems, supporting infrastructure projects, and resolving critical IT-related issues. The ideal candidate will coordinate and manage resources to ensure seamless BAU (Business As Usual) operations, offer technical problem-solving expertise, and advise on resource utilization for optimal client benefits. Additionally, this role includes managing the development of technical resources, providing coaching, mentoring, and training to staff to enhance their skills and meet clients expectations. Is responsible for timely reporting on the team's performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Server Operations Support:

• Provide support for Wintel, Unix/Linux, and virtual environments (RHV & ESXi).
• Manage servers and storage systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Support infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.
• Address and resolve critical IT-related issues promptly.

2. Resource Coordination and Management:

• Coordinate and manage resources to support BAU operations.
• Ensure resources are allocated efficiently to maintain seamless operations.

3. Technical Problem Solving:

• Apply strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members and clients.

4. Advisory Role:

• Advise clients on the short and long-term benefits and implications of resource utilization.
• Recommend effective use of resources to achieve client objectives and improve operational efficiency.

5. Technical Resources Development:

• Manage the technical resources development program to upgrade competency levels.
• Identify & enhance technical skills and knowledge of the resources.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to staff, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and learning.

6. Performance Reporting:

• Prepare and deliver timely reports on the performance of the team.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in server operations, including Wintel, Unix/Linux, and virtual environments (RHV & ESXi).
• Strong problem-solving skills from a technical perspective.
• Proven ability to manage resources and coordinate BAU operations.
• Excellent advisory skills with the ability to articulate the benefits and implications of resource utilization.
