An Exciting Opportunity Has Arisen For a Seasoned Board Secretary To Manage All Aspects Of The Governance Of The Board And Provide The Following

What You'll Do

As a Board Secretary, you will play an integral role to oversee and manage the operational and governance support for the board chairperson and executive leadership team of the Secretariat, ensuring effective collaboration, decision-making, and adherence to governance protocols.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Manage the operations of the Governing Council and Board of Directors, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, distributing materials, recording minutes, resolutions, and other legal documents.
  • Advise the Governing Council and Board of Directors on governance policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Facilitate the onboarding and orientation of new Board members, providing training on their roles and responsibilities.
  • Ensure that Standing Committees receive necessary information from the Board to effectively carry out their mandates.
  • Prepare board presentations, reports, and other materials as requested.
  • Provide guidance to the Board in their decision-making processes, ensuring alignment with the organisation's mission, values, and goals.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate for the Board Secretary role will bring a wealth of experience and possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, corporate governance or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a corporate secretary or executive assistant is preferred.
  • Knowledge of corporate governance regulations and best practices.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
