Key Objectives

  • Responsible to provide the maintenance electrical and instrumentation experience, best practices, lessons learnt input to the project during EPC phases to ensure facility design meet the regulatory, company and operation practice and standard.
  • Work with Project engineering to respond in operation and maintenance (E&I) deliverable.
  • Key member in Onshore Operation Readiness and Assurance (ORA) preparation
  • Lead Technician, E&I carries out and lead predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance, of electrical, instrument equipment on Onshore Gas Plant and Gas Injection Platform Facilities such as generators, transformers, breakers, sub-stations, electrical motors, lighting batteries, HVAC, instrumentation devices, local control, packages control and ICSS (Integrated Control and Safety System), etc. and including troubleshoots equipment breakdowns, executes repairs and reporting. Frontline maintenance and intervention of IT equipment and ability of basic production operation.
  • Coordinate to update the maintenance schedules, lead third party contractor, and ensure safe and efficient implementation.
  • Analyzes and updates the spare part catalogue and special electrical and instrumentation tools.

Principal Accountabilities

Project Phase

  • Be the operation representative in the project phase and represent asset owner (E&I) to ensure the facilities are designed and built to agreed standard, safe start up and continuous smooth operations.
  • Ensure operation assurance and operation excellence are incorporated including E&I lesson learns.
  • Provide E&I Operability and Maintainability input during EPC work to ensure that Operations and Maintenance (E&I) requirements are incorporated into the facilities design.
  • Ensure that operability, maintainability, ergonomic and health factors for both normal and abnormal operations (E&I), including pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and shutdown, and upset conditions are considered in the facilities design.
  • Ensure Engineering design reviews are adequately represented from the Maintenance (E&I) perspective.
  • Start-up requirements are identified and incorporated into the design and execution strategy/ schedule.
  • Ensure E&I operating, and maintenance manual/procedure/guideline are well established and developed.
  • Key Member of Operation Readiness and Assurance (ORA Team).
  • Review Spare Parts List, OEM planned maintenance recommendations, CMMS and Data base preparation, asset register etc.

Operations Phase

  • Carry out and lead preventive maintenance or repair adhering to the plant safety procedure and in accordance with the maintenance job cards.
  • Perform routine tests of electrical and instrument equipment, and control system as per procedures and schedules.
  • Lead Maintenance team (E&I) and Contractors during planned maintenance activities.
  • Front line maintenance and troubleshooting of ICSS and package system control.
  • Collaborate and work with Production Operator, technician and other relevant parities when required.
  • Carry out electrical isolation and de-isolation prior to and after maintenance interventions in compliance to law or Company regulation.
  • Prepare the relevant material, consumable and/ or special tools when required.
  • Report for any abnormal events or malfunction and at the completion of the job.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Engineer to improve maintenance system when anomaly found.
  • Be responsible for the repair/ maintenance of electrical and instrument testing, measuring and safety equipment in the workshop and switch gear room.
  • Monitor all control systems and maintain basic control system in accordance with the maintenance management system.
  • Front line maintenance of IT equipment.
  • Perform basic production operator tasks as instructed by line supervisor.
  • Coordinate with Material Coordinator and Material Management team for the delivery of spare parts including issuing the requisition and following up receipt.
  • Lead and coach junior technician on routine preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Manage day to day electrical and instrumentation activities.
  • Comply with and promote the regulations and Company’s SSHE policy, rules, for all works under responsibility.
  • Act emergency response roles as being assigned in Site’s Emergency Response Plan.
  • Review Spare Parts List, OEM planned maintenance recommendations, RAM study deliverables, RCM deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Technical Diploma in Electrical, Instrument, Electronic or related field with at least 2-years formal electrical and instrument training
  • 7 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Field working experience in instrumentation, electrical/ hydraulic/ pneumatic control system, PCS/ICSS system control. is required.
  • Possess a suitable certificate of Electrical safety, Electrical Isolation/De-isolation. Holding EIU (Competence Electrical) HV/LV switching/charge man certified would-be the advantage.
  • Experience in H2S and CO2 oil and gas operating facilities.
  • Experience of Onshore Midstream or Refinery operations
  • Good communication, coordination and organizing skills with ability to work with minimal supervision and liaise effectively and efficiently with other team members and outside stakeholders.
  • Good command of both spoken and written English.
  • Flexibility in mobility as per the project and operation requirement.
