Secured NPL Collection Officer

Description - External

Job Summary: To handle dunning activities for secured 60 to 90 dpd and NPL accounts and to also initiate legal actions (foreclosure / litigation) with the objective to improve delinquency/ NPL rate and to increase recoveries / upgrades of NPL. Examples of secured accounts are housing loans, term loans, and overdrafts.

Financial

• Contribute to 30+ and 90+ delinquencies, with the main objective to prevent accounts from turning into NPL.
• Drive NPL numbers and SP budgets and assist in reducing/ meeting departmental cost
• Contribute to meet department financial KPI including personal targets.

Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to all compliance matters (PDPA, Banking Secrecy, etc)
• Ensure that collection actions taken are within corporate guidelines, and collection policies

Processes

• Negotiate with customers for payments or repayment plan.
• Prepare proposals for composite settlement or instalment plan.
• Attend to walk in customers whenever necessary
• Recommend accounts to be assigned for field visit (when necessary)
• Attend and process borrower’s request
• Manage the NPLs of Secured portfolio including instituting legal actions ie. Foreclosure end-to-end process and civil actions

Human Capital

• Manage and achieve the target indicator set in Collectors scorecard and department KPI.
• Take on additional tasks and/or projects when assigned

Qualifications - External

Skill Sets / Experiences:

• Hands-on experience in Collections and Recovery Process.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience on litigation process and understanding of
• regulatory requirements.
• Practical knowledge and experience on secured/unsecured products, collections and
• recovery systems.
• Dunning experience in collections environment
• Good negotiation skills.
• Possess strong communication and inter-personal skill.

Experience & Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary or Diploma qualification or equivalent
• At least 2 years of Collections experience in Secured product
• Pleasant disposition with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge and experience in recovery
