Functional Tester

Key Responsibilities:

• API Testing: Conduct API testing using tools like Postman and Soap UI, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Testing Methodologies: Apply thorough understanding of various testing methodologies to ensure the quality of deliverables.
• Domain Knowledge: Utilize expertise in banking applications and regulatory requirements to guide testing processes.
• Documentation: Develop and maintain clear documentation of testing artifacts, ensuring adherence to the Requirements Traceability Matrix.
• Test Execution: Execute test cases, report results, and ensure comprehensive analysis and documentation.
• System Architecture: Understand system architecture concepts, including front-end, middleware, and backend systems.
• Impact and Root Cause Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis of identified issues and develop mitigation plans.
• Resource Planning: Plan and manage testing resources effectively, balancing workload and team skills.
• Team Mentoring: Train and mentor team members to improve skills and efficiency.
• Collaboration: Work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, meeting project deadlines and addressing urgent issues promptly.

Job Requirements:

Experience:

• Proven experience as a Functional Tester with a strong focus on API testing.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in QA engineering. For Senior roles, a minimum of 6 years is required.

Testing Tools:

• Proficiency in API testing tools such as Postman and Soap UI.
• Experience with testing management tools, including JIRA and Confluence.

Domain Expertise:

• Familiarity with banking domain applications, including Payments, Loans, and STP systems.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements in the banking sector.

Documentation Skills:

• Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Test Plans, Test Specifications, Test Cases, and Test Results.
• Ensure adherence to the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).

Analytical Skills:

• Strong skills in impact analysis, root cause analysis, and mitigation planning.
• Ability to conduct reviews and inspections to ensure thoroughness and accuracy.

Team Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to train and mentor team members.
• Effective resource planning and management capabilities.

Automation Knowledge:

• Knowledge of test automation tools, such as Katalon, is advantageous.

Backend and Database Testing:

• Good knowledge of backend systems and database testing is preferred.
