Job description

The role of a Technical Marketing Manager is critical to support key account manager in diversifying and exploring new business opportunities in Malaysia to increase efficiency and drive results in marketing and sales for the organization.

Ability to understand fully the group’s core technology/capability, enable full support to the key/strategic account manager for new business opportunities.

The Technical Marketing Manager needs to integrate customer product case study with Armstrong core technology and new ideas in order to maximize the business opportunity.

Competent in professional presentation, slide preparation, and demonstration in order gain maximum trust level from the key/strategy customers.

The Technical Marketing Manager needs to provide technical support in terms of customer enquiry in case OBU key account team in doubts. Maintains marketing tools (presentation deck, brochure, sample kit) and Project tracking and monitoring is necessary to keep track of overall progress.

Technical Marketing

  • Uses technology and research to create future products or alternative solutions for customers
  • Identifies consumer needs by showcasing how products will address or satisfy those needs
  • Implements strategies to minimize operating costs and increase profits
  • Develops content for marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, catalogues, and presentations
  • Lists the technical aspects and specifications of the products and services promoted
  • Consults with engineers and designers to develop new products or improve existing ones
  • Collaborates with sales teams to identify more effective branding ideas and develop innovative promotional materials for optimizing customer engagement
  • Helps businesses pinpoint potential new customer markets and helps to reach these customers effectively
  • Highlights the unique value proposition
  • Provides key facts and technical data
  • Participates in trade shows, seminars, and conferences to promote products or services

Planning and execution

  • Focuses on development of all marketing plans. Ensures the implementation of effective marketing strategies. Focuses on growing audiences and the uptake of products and services. Reviews and reports on all areas of the marketing strategies and their implementation.
  • Develops and implements a company's marketing & technology strategy to optimize customer and business outcomes. Leads business development meetings by proposing marketing and sales strategy, technical solutions, and possible roadmap to achieve sales objective.
  • Provides technical expertise, advice and best practices to internal stakeholders and support technical customer meetings.
  • High level of Technical Marketing and Sales related escalation / consultation support within the country.
  • Continuity of marketing strategies by researching market trends and associated technologies.
  • Identifies opportunities to reach new market segments and/or expansion of existing market share.

Mid-to-long term strategic planning

  • Diversifies supply opportunity for all strategy/Key account customers.
  • Provides technical training to sales team.

Requiremements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Manufacturing Engineering/ Material Engineering or related field.
  • At least 5 years to 10 years in technical/engineering leadership
  • External/customer interfacing background.
  • Experience in handling Program and Key Accounts.
