Description

You will play a crucial role in enhancing the international student experience at ELS Language Centres, Malaysia. This position entails overseeing all operations related to the academic programme, ensuring compliance with the ELS Language Centres Operations Manual and local policies. You will implement and develop the curriculum, manage class scheduling, evaluate student placements, and oversee the hiring and training of instructional staff. Additionally, you will step in to manage the Language Centre in the absence of the Centre Director.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct the academic program according to ELS Language Centres standards.
  • Hire, train, and supervise instructional staff.
  • Provide both substitute and regular classroom instruction as needed.
  • Maintain the instructional budget and order necessary materials.
  • Supervise the placement, testing, and evaluation of students.
  • Schedule classes, teachers, and students effectively.
  • Orient new students to the academic programme.
  • Submit timely academic reports to universities and sponsors.
  • Support retention strategies to enhance student success.
  • Assist with the management of special programmes as required.
  • Maintain Centre operations when the Centre Director is unavailable.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Education: MA in ESL/TESOL/TEFL or related field preferred; BA/BS with equivalent experience required.
  • Experience: A minimum of four years in ESL/EFL teaching, along with two years in an administrative role overseeing teaching staff.
  • Skills: Strong service orientation, flexibility, creativity in problem-solving, and commitment to high-quality academic standards.
  • Additionally, good communication and organizational skills are required, along with the ability to manage diverse job functions effectively.
  • A driven individual who excels in leadership and teamwork is highly valued.
