About the Role:

Brooks Automation is a fast-paced technology company that works on the cutting edge of Semiconductor robotics and automation solutions. As we continue to push the capabilities of robotics inside of semiconductor fabs, we are looking for someone who is excited by both technology and manufacturing automation.

The Senior Quality Manager reports to the Senior Operations Director and is responsible for leading the quality assurance and control functions at our Greenfield manufacturing facility in JB. The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement, ensure adherence to industry standards, and manage quality systems across the production process to meet customer and regulatory requirements. As a Senior Quality Manager, you will create and implement policies and procedures which result in attaining quality goals and GxP globally while providing direction and leadership regarding operational compliance with all applicable statutory and local guidelines.

Work Location: This is an onsite role and requires the candidate to be based at our Johor Bahru site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all quality control and quality assurance activities in manufacturing processes; responsible and accountable for all activities and outcomes related to Products and Compliance audits.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) in compliance with industry standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues, ensuring timely resolutions; ensure all internal and external reported failures are identified, investigated, and resolved appropriately.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of quality processes and drive improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and suppliers, to ensure product quality.
  • Conduct audits of internal processes and suppliers to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on reducing defects, improving yield, and enhancing overall product quality.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the quality team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Travel up to 15% may be expected; other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field with at least 10+ years’ relevant experience in quality management, preferably in the semiconductor capital equipment or high-tech manufacturing industry
  • Strong knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001) and experience in maintaining and auditing quality systems.
  • Proven experience with Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Actions, and Preventive Measures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, can work collaboratively across departments.
  • Certification in Quality Management Systems (e.g., Six Sigma, CQE) is highly preferred.
