Job Summary

  • The role is responsible for ensuring that the credit risk of the Consumer Financing portfolio of the Bank is effectively managed as per the approved credit risk policies and procedures.
  • The position is required to manage credit risk through regular assessment and analysis of credit risk throughout the Bank.

Key Responsibilities

Regarding Consumer Financing, the roles and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Develop, implement and execute credit policies and risk management strategies for effective portfolio governance to meet goals.
  • Review and where necessary, enhance credit policies/ procedures encompassing all products and businesses
  • Establish controls/ limits to manage credit risk within the Bank based on portfolio assessments
  • Analyse and continue to enhance current underwriting criteria
  • Explore new opportunities and challenge the effectiveness of existing policies
  • Participate in business related and risk management initiatives.
  • Design strategies to provide key risk mechanism to control any allowable risk taking activities
  • Develop risk management strategies to support growth in multiple products
  • Review and comment on proposal papers on new products and services to ensure credit risk issues have been addressed and mitigated
  • Ensure compliance with credit risk related regulatory requirements;
  • Carry out any ad-hoc assignments assigned by Head of Credit Risk/ CRO/ Management/ Board from time to time.

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in credit risk management, with a focus on consumer credit risk within the banking sector.
  • A recognized degree in Finance/ Banking/ Accounting/ Economics or in any related field

Experience/ Skills/ Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in consumer credit risk, including credit risk measurement, monitoring, management and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of the banking industry and products offered
  • Well versed with the regulatory environment for banks
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Able to work independently as well as a good team player
  • Sound business and financial judgment, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to organize and motivate individuals at various levels.
