Job Description
About the Role:

The Global Commodity Manager is a leader who understands advanced Supply Chain concepts and best-known methods to mitigate material supply risks while ensuring Brooks’ Continuity of Supply (COS) across our materials supply chain with key Suppliers located in Southeast Asia region. As Global Commodity Manager at Brooks, you will be highly effective in growing close, strategic partnerships with targeted Suppliers who align their technologies and resources that assure Brooks delivers high quality, innovative automation solutions that solve high value problems for our global Customers.

Work Location: Hybrid – Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Brooks’ cross functional resources and Supplier(s) for the timely resolution of material escalations including production, quality, delivery requests
  • Familiar with reading technical drawings and specifications stored in Agile or other similar tools
  • Closely manage the material procurement process from RFQ to purchase order placement to material receipt on Brooks’ receiving dock
  • Effective communicator with Brooks suppliers in region and internationally to assure we receive high quality materials, competitive pricing & on time deliveries
  • Recognize Copy Exact material requirements in Semiconductor and other industries -- from First Article Inspection through Production
  • Lead in an environment of change, continuous process improvement, and business acceleration
  • Part of a team responsible for the efficient transition of Brooks programs and related materials to the Brooks Johor facility
  • Occasional travel required, including international
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Technical discipline with minimum 5+ years of experience in program management & leading cross functional teams and at least 3 years of experience with Supplier Relationship and Sourcing Management.
  • Project/Program management training and/or PMP / PMI certification preferred.
  • Lean Six-Sigma training and/or certification preferred.
  • Familiar with several material commodities including Metals Machining, Sheet Metal Fabrication, Special Coatings, Electronic Components, Cables, Gas Distribution Components used in the Semicon industry.
  • Experience and knowledge of Semiconductor Equipment manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Effective negotiator in contracts and best pricing while strengthening Supplier relationships.
  • Understands materials order management cycle – RFQ thru Materials Procurement & Delivery.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills, working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Experienced in international purchasing and sourcing including the ability to interact and work with teams who are geographically dispersed; experience with supply base in Southeast Asia highly preferred.
  • Strong background in materials management including familiar with multiple materials commodities including metals machining, sheet metal fabrication, electronic components, cables, gas distribution components, preferably used in the SEMI industry.
