Procurement Manager- Indirect Material

Position Purpose

Manage the procurement specific needs of indirect materials (excluding: Strategic Category - Commodities, Direct Materials and Supply Chain/Logistics Materials) for Singapore & Malaysia (SIMA) region.

Lead procurement team to become fully integrated as part of BI’s world class procurement organization. Develop, manage and execute procurement strategies. Manage supplier relationships to optimize cost competitiveness and drive supplier quality performance. Requires travel to Singapore as and when.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

• Leads spend categories for Commercial and Enabling Functions (HR, Finance, IT) covering the SIMA region (Singapore and Malaysia).
• Support the Procurement Management to establish and drive implementation of key results areas for procurement that create price advantage, supply availability and package innovation, including budget accountability. Measure and improve competitiveness in all spend areas.
• Support the Procurement team in expansion of procurement spend to 100% coverage for SIMA affiliates.
• Develop and implement category strategy for Specific IMS Spend and business plan in alignment with BI global procurement business drivers and objectives. Implement and execute BI global procurement strategies and programs in SIMA specific to Indirect Materials.
• Establish and drive implementation of key results areas for procurement that create price advantage, supply availability and package innovation, including budget accountability. Measure and improve competitiveness in all spend areas.
• Build and manage supplier relationships to optimize cost competitiveness and drive continuous improvements on supplier quality performance through implementation of Supplier Relationship Management tools (KPI Score Card, etc.).
• Plan, Manage and Execute in a timely manner tender process, contract negotiations, development and execution activities.
• Lead organizational and personal capabilities building in the procurement department. Formulate capabilities building strategy and deployment plan. Ensure provision of training and development resources and support to facilitate capability building of procurement team.
• Uphold fiduciary responsibilities and business controls; actively ensure and maintain adherence to SIMA Policy and Procedures and BI standards and values, quality commitments, ethics, policies and professional standards.
• E-Catalogue – maximize the utilization of Coke 1 for all agreement and pricing
• Managing Supply Base (rationalize/optimization supply base) – streamline supply source
• Ensures all internal and external correspondence is in accordance with the Company requirements.
• Maintains safe and healthy working environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Position Requirements/ Qualifications: -

• Education: Bachelor's degree or master's preferably in procurement and/or supply chain related field. Professional knowledge of procurement practices, supply markets, terms, negotiation concepts and business laws.
• Experience: Minimum of 6-8 years’ experience relevant experience in FMCG/beverage manufacturing environment or any other related field with a strong procurement background in Malaysia. Equivalent to Senior Executive/Junior Manager
• Language: English / Bahasa Melayu
• Travel: Requires travel to Singapore (25-35%).
