As the IT Executive for our Pre-opening Hotel in Penang, you are responsible for:

  • Providing IT systems, office automations and end-user devices deployment and support.
  • Experience in rolling out and installation of OS, troubleshooting, and reconfiguration in a Wintel, Mac, IOS and Android environments
  • Support Microsoft Office Suite and other company endorsed desktop and mobile applications.
  • Support IT assets & inventory maintenance; including software licenses, printers, desktops, laptops and mobile phones provided by company.
  • Administration of user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory, email system, as well as other software and application systems.
  • Take ownership of customer issues reported and see problems through to resolution. Research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify solutions to resolve customer issues.
  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers.
  • Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams. Ensure proper recording and closure of all issues; prepare accurate and timely reports; document knowledge in the form of knowledge base tech notes and articles.
  • Manage incident and service tickets
  • Ability to communicate with/manage external IT vendors would be an added advantage.
  • To carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Possess a bachelor degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Technology or the equivalent.
  • Proven hands-on experience of technical support, IT support or as a technical engineer.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent client-facing skills, and keen attention to details would be an added advantage.
  • Must have a dynamic, outgoing personality, be a good team player who is approachable and cheerful.
  • Good communication skills: able to exchange ideas and information effectively in a concise & logical way and be sensitive to audience diversity. Be able to understand end users’ pressure and to support them in a constructive way.
  • Ability to clearly explain complex technical issues to non-technical people
  • Experience in providing technical support to Senior Management would be an added advantage.
