Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the operations of the NCCIM and the Secretariat, ensuring its financial health and effective implementation of the decisions taken by the Executive Committee.

• Supervise and coordinate Executive Committee (EXCO) and General Council meetings, and various other working committee meetings. This includes the meticulous preparation and presentation of meeting papers and reports.

• Spearhead the management of domestic affairs, which includes conducting activities related to government engagement and outreach initiatives within the business community.

• To lead in the management of the international affairs, responsible for coordinating activities associated with engagements with NCCIM's counterparts in other countries, as well as providing secretariat support to the regional bilateral business councils.

• Prepare persuasive and insightful speeches for the President and Executive Committee members for various engagements.

• Draft and send out formal correspondence to Ministries/government entities, both locally and abroad.

• Sustain and enhance productive relationships with relevant government ministries, agencies and international embassies.

• Compose and revise diverse Memorandums of Understanding, ensuring they align with the objectives of collaborations with NCCIM's international counterparts.

• Direct the management of NCCIM's branding initiatives. This includes the preparation of impactful presentation slides for the President's various speaking engagements, domestically and internationally, crafting press releases/statements on issues impacting the business community, leveraging cutting-edge social media strategies and associated technologies and maintaining good relationships with the media.

Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or a related field is required.
  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics or related disciplines is highly preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years of leadership experience in a chamber of commerce, trade association or related business entity.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and organisational leadership.
  • A track record of successful stakeholder engagement and partnership development at the national and international levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with various stakeholders including government officials, business leaders and media.
  • Proficient in financial management, budgeting and resource allocation to ensure the chamber’s financial health.
  • Capability to lead, motivate and manage a team towards achieving strategic objectives.
