  • Prepare and negotiate agreements, covering area such as corporate matters, joint ventures, tenancy and sales or purchase of land and properties.
  • Providing legal advice and support for the Group's business and operations.
  • Managing the sale and purchase agreements and related documents (Sale Documents) for property development projects, while coordinating with the sales and marketing department, personnel, and external/panel solicitors (as needed) to ensure timely completion and finalisation of the Sale Documents.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel and other third-party advisors to manage the Group's litigation and other legal matters.
  • Provide guidance on general business matters and oversee legal issues across all areas of the Group, including but not limited to business operations and corporate affairs.
  • Handle the Group’s litigation matters, including representing the Group before courts, tribunals, or other judicial, administrative, or public authorities, as well as in dealings with any other legal or physical entities.
  • Help raise awareness within business units about the legal risks faced by the Group and emphasize the importance of taking proactive steps to mitigate potential exposure.
  • Perform legal research to stay updated on relevant changes in laws and advise management on necessary adjustments and their impact on business operations.
  • Coordinate with relevant government offices and other competent authorities as needed.
  • Ensure that business operations comply with relevant laws and regulations, and provide advice to senior management on these matters.
  • Ensure that collaborative objectives are met with various internal stakeholders regarding internal audit, internal control, risk management, process improvement, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Carry out any additional duties assigned by Management as needed.

Requirements

  • A Degree in Law with at least 10 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within a property development company.
  • Extensive knowledge of property development industry, including practices and regulations, with experience in commercial law (particularly related to property and business). Additionally, a strong understanding of corporate law, litigation, and listing requirements.
  • Address all legal issues, providing legal advice and support to the Group, its departments, and subsidiary companies on all legal matters.
  • Conduct legal research to stay updated on current laws.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • Ability to speak Mandarin is a plus.
  • Capable of working independently and under pressure.
