This role will support Group Business Controller of the Company and to act as core finance partner to senior management and corporate office with the below focus areas :

  • Responsible to deliver and monitor the Group management performance and budget control reporting to Apical senior management and corporate office accurately, completely and timely.
  • Articulate Group performance according to business model and communicate effectively to management and corporate office. It is critical that this role shall engage effectively with all business segment leaders and controllers to understand the complete business performance and control areas.
  • Monitor and report group growth projects performance and drive Quality, Productivity & Cost Continuous Improvement across all business units.

Job Description

Group Management Reporting

  • Owner of Group Management reporting system, policy and process to ensure business performance reporting package are presented timely and useful for management and corporate review as well as decision making purpose. This include setting up a group template for various purposes of group reporting.
  • As the Company business has evolved significantly in the past few years, it is time to set up a sustainable new Group Reporting Template and data base to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Group analysis in future.
  • Respond to corporate reporting team’s questions from time to time.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of the Company management reporting system, this includes the set-up of new business reporting process, review policy to ensure they are updated and applied
  • Partner with Shared Services team and maintain regular engagement with them to align the reporting expectation. Meanwhile, to provide periodic update of business development to ensure the team has sufficient knowledge to perform the job.

Group Financial Planning Analysis

  • Lead the Company budget process as well as report long range plan with strategic planning team.
  • Identify and drive key performance monitoring system.
  • Review, analyse and report the financial forecast and performance gap to management team periodically during Financial Review Meeting.

Leadership

  • Proactive in managing team engagement, performance review and development plan of the staff, this include arranging relevant small group discussion and training to the team.
  • Engage and work closely with all business segments / business units and controllers as well as Finance, Accounting & Tax team to align the financial performance parameter and expectation of the Group
  • Develop finance talent as key target

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of strong working experience, experience in manufacturing / commodity environment (agriculture trading/supply chain and plantation) is an advantage
  • Managerial experience of not less than 10 years. Proven strong managerial and leadership qualities
  • Someone with strong control mindset and not afraid to say No.
  • Professional accounting qualification including ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW and/or CPA will be highly preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Out-spoken and able to develop and motivate a team
  • Highly responsive and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Business Partnering skills and a good team player
  • Commercially-oriented with high energy, a ‘can-do’ attitude and hands-on
  • Operationally in tune with the business with a keen eye for analysis and details
