Site Lead Job Description:

The Site Lead is a key role responsible for overseeing and optimizing Data Center operations within a specified region. This role involves managing various responsibilities related to site management, technical operations, team coordination, project management, and collaboration with various stakeholders. Site Lead supports the Data Center Manager, covering their activities during absence, and maintaining operational excellence in Data Center operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Cybersecurity, IT), or equivalent in experience.
  • Previous experience in Data Center operations and management.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant tools, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Location and Rack Management:

  • Managing rack workflows.
  • Oversight of rack assignment locations and white space management.

Power and Cooling Management:

  • Monitoring power and cooling capacity.
  • Requesting approvals for changes as required.

Project Management:

  • Leading and supporting local Data Center projects.
  • Overseeing expansions and new site build-outs.

Procurement:

  • Coordinating procurement activities for the Data Center.
  • Reviewing and submitting quotes, offers, and orders with Colo partners.

Physical Security and Access:

  • Managing physical security measures and access controls.
  • Arranging and coordinating rack deliveries and pick-ups.

Audits and Compliance:

  • Conducting regular audits, including access, white space, and quarterly/annual logs.
  • Ensuring compliance with security policies and standards.

Vendor and Colo Management:

  • Serving as a point of contact for Colo on infrastructure issues.
  • Coordinating with local CHS leadership for staffing tasks.

Meetings and Communication:

  • Preparing and performing weekly meetings with CHS manager and seniors.
  • Participating in manager Colo weekly meetings.

Training and Documentation:

  • Managing keybox and audit-related tasks.
  • Interviewing for DC Operations.
