Mr DIY is seeking candidates at Senior Executive level, for the Logistics Analyst (New Country Expansion Project) role, to join the Logistics Department to provide logistics oversight and support for new country projects to ensure compliance with organizational policies and local laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing shipping cost analyses, participating in the tendering process, and negotiating billing and payment arrangements with exporters and importers.
  • Ensuring smooth project operation by coordinating effectively with various departments, including business development, procurement, warehouse, finance, and compliance.
  • Providing logistics oversight and support for new country projects to ensure compliance with organizational policies and local laws.
  • Maintaining close coordination with HQ Regional Platform, Finance, Procurement, and Compliance to address gaps, bottlenecks, and risks.
  • Offering pre- and post-project support, including reporting, analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Collaborating with the Controller and Compliance teams in regular meetings with the Local Import team.
  • Interfacing with both internal parties such as Commercial, Operations, and Procurement teams, and external parties such as exporters, importers, customs brokers, and forwarding agents to maintain consistent logistical planning.
  • Identifying logistics and importation synergies at the country and regional levels to contribute to designing regional logistics strategies.
  • Handling import and export problems, complaints, and providing timely solutions.
  • Handle complex or confidential matters requiring discretion and judgment.
  • Monitor the effective execution of agreed actions and timelines, reporting any failures, gaps, or delays to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in venturing into new countries from preparation stage until Phase 1 completion, then hand over the portfolio to the respective Logistics Controller.
  • Perform and support ad hoc projects as assigned by superiors.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in import/export trade, forwarding, project management, or related fields, demonstrating expertise in shipment processes and customs clearance.
  • Strong presentation skills and fluency in spoken, written, and reading English; proficiency in Mandarin is advantageous.
  • Independent and proactive mindset, with a positive attitude towards continuous improvement and a demonstrated ability to adapt to change.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to create and deliver impactful presentations and reports.
  • Strong research skills, capable of gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing information to inform decision-making and strategy development.
  • Demonstrates strong project management and logistical planning skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on resolving issues from multiple perspectives.
  • Familiarity with Regulatory Affairs, HS codes, and international trade regulations will be an added advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience in a relevant field.
  • Preferably experienced in international trade.
