Position: Portfolio Manager

Reports to: Head of Portfolio Management

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Position Overview:

The Portfolio Manager at Crewstone International is responsible for the performance management of the firm’s portfolio companies. This role involves monitoring financial and operational metrics, implementing value-creation strategies, and managing exit processes to maximize returns. The Portfolio Manager will work closely with company management teams to drive growth and ensure alignment with the firm’s investment objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Performance Monitoring

  • Conduct ongoing analysis of portfolio company performance, focusing on financial results, operational efficiency, and strategic goals.
  • Prepare detailed performance reports for internal use and for communication with investors.
  • Monitor industry trends and market conditions to assess the potential impact on portfolio companies.

Value-Creation Strategies

  • Collaborate with portfolio company leadership to identify and implement value-enhancing initiatives.
  • Develop and oversee strategic projects aimed at improving profitability, expanding market share, and achieving operational excellence.
  • Utilize data-driven insights and industry best practices to optimize company performance.

Exit Management

  • Develop and execute exit strategies for portfolio companies, ensuring the best possible outcomes for the firm and its investors.
  • Manage the exit process, including deal negotiation, documentation, and closing.
  • Coordinate with external advisors and stakeholders to facilitate successful transactions.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Crewstone International and portfolio company management teams.
  • Maintain regular communication with investors, providing updates on portfolio performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare and present reports and recommendations to the investment committee.

Due Diligence & Analysis

  • Assist the investment team with due diligence on potential new investments, including financial analysis, market research, and risk assessment.
  • Support the development of investment theses and strategic plans for new acquisitions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or CFA preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in portfolio management, private equity, investment banking, or management consulting.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and exiting investments.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in industry analysis and market trends relevant to the firm’s focus sectors.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
