Wood is recruiting a Process Engineer, who has experience in Oil & Gas Upstream and/ or Downstream business industry to join our Kuala Lumpur Office team to support the Operations APAC (West) engineering activities.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be reporting directly to the Lead Process Engineer in the KL Office and potentially will be closely collaborating with our Perth, Western Australia Office and other relevant Wood Offices for workshare and be working across Feasibility and Conceptual/ FEED / Detailed Design/ Execution phase. Your focus will be on:

  • performing process engineering design work i.e. process simulation, design calculation, process diagram and drawings, including process safeguards, with guidance from the superior;
  • providing support (process input) to other disciplines during discussions, process requirement in datasheets, specifications, etc;
  • applying knowledge of process design principles to the design/modification of petroleum production/processing facilities to ensure it is inherently safe;
  • ensuring compliance with code and standards, project owner best practice, local authority regulations in all aspects of process design;
  • be responsible, reliable, and work closely with superior for any decision-making made.

Qualifications

Suitably qualified with a Bachelors of Chemical Engineering degree from an accredited university, ideally you will have relevant experience in process engineering design for upstream and/or downstream business for petroleum production or processing facilities and preferably on brownfields projects.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must hold valid work rights to work lawfully in this Malaysian location.

In Addition, You Will Have

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the offshore / onshore Oil and Gas upstream / downstream industry
  • Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is preferred
  • Fairly sounds in Technical Process design / environmental requirements, procedures, and responsibilities
  • Knowledge of process regulations and applicable industry codes / standards
  • Excellent report writing and oral communication skills
  • Intellectually capable, can substantiate the ability to apply theory in a practical context
  • Professional demeanor, interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiastic, conscientious, and keen to learn
  • Able to demonstrate a level of team working skills
  • Flexible with a can-do attitude
  • Self-proofing and able to work under close supervision
  • A “solutions mindset” and able to manage varying tasks with often changing and competing priorities
