Job Summary

A Project Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement process for specific projects, ensuring that materials, goods, and services are sourced, ordered, and delivered on time to meet project deadlines. Their role involves working closely with project managers, suppliers, and internal teams to secure the necessary resources while adhering to budget constraints and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement of inventory to fulfill customer orders.
  • Obtain up-to-date quotes from suppliers to prevent pricing disputes and invoice discrepancies.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
  • Coordinate with the Material Planning team to forecast and maintain an optimal balance of material purchases.
  • Collaborate closely with Program Managers and the Planning team to understand customer demand, anticipate raw material needs, influence supplier and component selection, and drive planning and procurement activities.
  • Expedite procurement of items upon request from the Planning, Customer, or other relevant departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with project management or working in cross-functional teams is highly beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
  • At least 3 year of working experience in related field.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with suppliers, internal teams, and project stakeholders.
