Job Location: Selangor State

Job Purpose

Accountable for the education advisory project in terms of strategy, execution excellence and continuous improvement against benchmarked standards in line with project goals, clients’ expectations and educational standards. Key accountabilities include:

  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Teacher and Panel Head capacity building for English and BM

  • Resource Management

Responsible for the implementation of the programme in the Schools and accountable for achievement of project milestones and timelines of the programme.

To provide coaching and advisory support to the schools within the programme.

To work peripatetically with subject Panel Heads and teachers as a mentor and coach to develop their practices, skills and knowledge of effective general teaching pedagogy, and specifically early literacy using best-practice strategies.

To support the Project Lead with the implementation of the programme and provide advisory support to school leadership teams and teachers at the upper primary school level.

Primary Responsibilities

Programme Implementation

  1. Work in teams to collaborate on ideas, evaluate current practices, plan and create frameworks to orchestrate various interventions to achieve successful implementation of the programme.
  2. Outline the concept for the programmes, defining (needs for) the programme medium, content, standards, assessments, accompanying materials, and complementary learning approaches.

Coaching and Advisory

  1. Work closely with the Project Lead to support the effective implementation of the programme.
  2. Expand the Panel Heads’ and teachers’ understanding and implementation of the programme.
  3. Support Panel Heads and teachers to identify areas of need and priorities within their subjects / school, set up goals, distribute leadership duties and develop action plans in collaboration with key school staff to foster change where it is most needed.
  4. Work with the teachers as a guide, mentor and coach to develop their understanding and knowledge as well as raising the standard of effective literacy teaching and learning pedagogy and practice.
  5. Support Panel Heads and teachers in building capacity through the implementation of workshops with a focus on improved student literacy outcomes in BM and/or English.
  6. Support the development of and/or provide a range of continuous professional development opportunities for Panel Heads and teachers through the delivery of centralised and bespoke training, professional discussions, workshops and PLC’s, both online and face-to-face.
  7. Support and work with Panel Heads and teachers to collect robust and valid data in relation to providing effective improvements in teaching & learning practices, particularly related to literacy.
  8. Support the school staff to achieve project targets through pedagogical coaching and training where needed.
  9. Provide appropriate and periodical feedback to Panel Heads and teaching staff to enable achievement of professional targets.
