Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Project Engineer to oversee a team of project engineers in the implementation of solar and green energy projects across the Borneo region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, specifically in managing commercial and industrial scale solar systems, and will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle from design to execution.

  • Lead a team of project engineers for solar and green energy project implementation in the Borneo region from Sarawak, Brunei to Sabah.
  • Develop, supervise, and/or review designs of commercial and industrial scale (C&I) solar systems, including but not limited to the electrical, structural and mechanical aspects of the projects.
  • Work with design team to confirm engineering design to decide DC equipments and AC interconnection locations at the site and connections to the existing electrical system.
  • Manage multidisciplinary engineering designs which produce the associated details and construction documents necessary to direct the construction team/contractors.
  • Coordinate evaluation of PV products and emerging technologies.
  • Provide technical support for review/preparation of proposals, including customer meeting during project development stage.
  • Provide technical direction to project during project kick off stage testing, PV system commissioning and performance monitoring.
  • Make technology recommendations based on project site location and geographic conditions.
  • Lead on project budget control with detailed BQ understanding and possible cost improvement with value engineering for C&I projects.
  • Lead on project management implementation in ERP system.
  • Liaise with design team and site management team to deliver the project per project schedule and site installation quality per project specification.
  • Manage local authority license application and liaise with licensing team to support on SEDA/TNB/ST related license application.
  • Participate in project tendering task force team to lead on engineering part for tender submission.
  • Develop, plan, maintain, execute and monitor standard project workflow and project WBS.
  • Consolidate and track overall project progress against approved master project schedule.
  • Review and analyse project report and revert the critical issues to project related stakeholders to mitigate project risk from all contract aspect.
  • Consolidate and prepare executive report or update as required for stakeholder requirements, KPI, executive dashboard and reporting.
  • Conduct regular meetings with project teams to review progress, address concerns, and provide updates on project timelines.
  • Prepare current and look ahead quarterly project delivery plan and bridge gaps with all key stakeholders from various department to steer project outcome as per forecast plan.
  • Follow up on correspondences and outstanding requests for resolution.

Requirement:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of work experience in Engineering preferably Electrical or Construction industry
  • Preferably > 3 years of on-job experience in managing Solar PV project
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Project
  • Skillset in ERP System, Power Bi, Power Automate and other Project Management tools will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to multitask and perform effectively within tight deadlines
  • Willing to travel/relocate for projects across Sarawak/Sabah/Brunei
  • Based in Kuching or Kota Kinabalu office
