COOK JOB DESCRIPTION • To prepare central kitchen menu items in accordance with the standard recipes and ensuring quantity and quality of the foods are up to standards. • To work on daily central kitchen ingredients and workstations, eg butchering, vegetable cutting, storage and labelling. • Maintains established standards of sanitation, safety and food preparation and storage as set by the local and state health departments; maintains an orderly, sanitary, and safe kitchen. • Able to operate a variety of manual and/or automated kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, toasters, fryers, mixers etc. • Assures the proper care and maintenance of all food service equipment; identifies equipment needs for food preparation and service and assists in purchasing as needed. ELIGILIBILITY REQUIREMENTS • Minimum SPM holder • Proven experience as cook (minimum one year of cooking experience in restaurants, hotels, food stalls or canteens) • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.) • Excellent cooking skills • An understanding to produce and blend ingredients • Knowledge of culinary arts • Willing to work according to shifts, weekends and public holidays.
