Mechanic

Key Responsibilities: Repair and Maintenance: Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues in estate machinery, vehicles (tractors, trucks, trailers), and other equipment. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements on equipment. Conduct engine overhauls, electrical system repairs, and hydraulic system servicing. Use diagnostic tools and mechanical expertise to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Preventive Maintenance: Follow preventive maintenance schedules for all estate machinery and vehicles. Check and replace worn-out parts, ensuring machines and vehicles are in good condition to avoid breakdowns. Regularly inspect equipment and perform safety checks to identify potential issues before they cause major failures. Workshop Operations: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and in working order. Assist in maintaining accurate records of all repairs, parts usage, and maintenance logs. Collaborate with the workshop team to complete tasks efficiently and meet deadlines. Assist in inventory management of spare parts, consumables, and tools. Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols while working on machinery, vehicles, and in the workshop. Ensure that all repairs and maintenance procedures adhere to safety standards. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that the workshop meets safety regulations. Collaboration with Operations: Coordinate with estate workers and management to ensure that machinery is available and ready for field operations. Provide feedback to supervisors on recurring issues with specific equipment or vehicles. Assist in training estate workers on the safe operation and handling of machinery and equipment.
