Objectives of the Position

  • Marketing lead for the AP Malaysia, in-line with the region; to development and implementation country marketing strategy to achieve profitable growth targets.
  • To position BASF’s Crop Protection business as a trusted and respected leading player in the Malaysia crop protection industry with a clear focus on adding value to channel partners and customers.
  • To lead, develop and form a strong team as a basis for long-term success and ensure appropriate deployment of resources Focusing on the correct segments and portfolio to implement the strategy with close coordination with sales, development, and technical services, regulatory, supply chain and controlling.

Main Tasks

  • Drive & deliver Agricultural Solutions Marketing Plan in Malaysia
  • Leverage fully available data (external & internal sources) to analyse trends, generate insights & Identify new business opportunities for BASF products, therefore provide marketing concepts and ideas to key customers to drive deeper collaboration, and increased sales
  • Develop mid-term (5 years) country marketing strategy for key brands in focus crops for AP business in Malaysia in line with company and regional strategy
  • Develop brand plans in focus crops in close coordination with Regulatory, Development, Technical and Sales to deliver the budget and ensure implementation.
  • Prepare the Marketing budget and oversee the expenditure in the allocated area to ensure demand creation and maximization of gross profit, including pricing strategy and effectively managing ASP expense allocation.
  • Lead the update of the 10-year market and sales forecast in AMIGA, RAC and provide the appropriate market information including competitor and customers trends.
  • Lead new product launch process with support of supply chain, sales, product development, technical services, and registration team

B. Fully support the country sales team on market & customer-specific marketing needs to deliver business objectives

  • Coordinate with Commercial Excellence to support sales team on professional selling skill.
  • Facilitate and optimize demand planning/forecasting with supply chain and sales.

C. People and function management:

  • Foster a high-performance culture guided by a strong vision to Create Legacy Together that focuses on Key Focus Brands, channel partners and farmers
  • Build, organize and develop a strong, ambitious, and self-sustaining team in line with business strategy
  • Plan and control the function structure and manpower requirements, headcount, and budget, establish development measures and appraise the performance of the team.
  • Train and coach the direct reports and develop the succession planning.



Minimum Education And Qualification Required For The Position

  • Education: University degree or above with major in Agricultural Studies and MBA
  • Working Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of related work experience,
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge: High proficiency in spoken and written English; Excellent skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Strong analytical skills
