LITERACY & NUMERACY TEACHER

Job Description: The Literacy and Numeracy Teacher will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction in foundational literacy and numeracy skills to students, ensuring that each child develops strong reading, writing, and mathematical abilities. The role requires passion, patience, and a dedication to improving the learning outcomes for all students. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement effective lesson plans focused on improving literacy and numeracy skills. Teach literacy (reading, writing, comprehension) and numeracy (basic arithmetic, problem-solving) in an engaging and age-appropriate manner. Use a variety of instructional techniques and materials to meet the needs of diverse learners. Assess students' abilities and progress through formal and informal assessments. Track student progress in literacy and numeracy and identify areas needing additional support. Provide regular feedback to students and parents on progress and areas for improvement. Design and implement intervention programs for students who are struggling with basic literacy and numeracy skills. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and a love for learning. Maintain classroom discipline and ensure that behavior management strategies align with school policies. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance. Prepare reports and documentation as required by the school or district. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field (specializing in Literacy, Mathematics, or similar areas), Preferred candidates with experience in Jolly Phonics. Strong understanding of literacy and numeracy teaching techniques. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Patience, creativity, and passion for teaching young learners. Experience working with children in a classroom setting is preferred. Job Type: Temporary Contract length: 3 months
