Reservoir Geologist

The Reservoir Geologist - Geo Modeller will be responsible for constructing and maintaining geological models to support reservoir characterization, development, and management. This role requires expertise in geology, petrophysics, and geostatistics to ensure accurate reservoir descriptions and predictive models. Key Responsibilities: - Geological Modeling: Develop detailed 3D geological models of reservoirs using industry-standard software (e.g., Petrel, GOCAD). - Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources, including seismic, well logs, core data, and production history, to enhance model accuracy. - Reservoir Characterization: Analyze and interpret geological, petrophysical, and geophysical data to define reservoir properties and distribution. - Simulation Support: Collaborate with reservoir engineers to provide geological input for reservoir simulation and dynamic modeling. - Uncertainty Analysis: Conduct uncertainty analysis and risk assessment to quantify the impact of geological uncertainties on reservoir performance. - Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including geophysicists, petrophysicists, and reservoir engineers, to ensure consistent and accurate geological interpretations. - Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on geological findings, model results, and recommendations for reservoir management. - Field Development Planning: Support field development planning by providing geological insights and models to optimize well placement and production strategies. - Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest geological modeling techniques and industry best practices to continually improve modeling workflows. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related field. - Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in reservoir geology and geological modeling within the oil and gas industry. - Technical Skills: Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, GOCAD), seismic interpretation, well log analysis, and core data interpretation. - Knowledge: Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology, and reservoir characterization techniques. - Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex datasets. - Communication: Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. - Language: Proficiency in English
