  • Preparation of breakfast, lunch, dinner and all other hospitality catering requests.
  • To prepare all normal to any type of therapeatic diet as ordered by doctors or Dietician.
  • To prepare and set up all diet trays for patients making sure they are provided with the correct diet as ordered on the diet sheet and the number of trays ordered are correct.
  • To help kitchen aides with the general and deep cleaning of the department, washing of all cooking utensils, crockery and storage of all items in their appropriate places after drying. To check that all cooking pots are washed clean inside and outside.
  • To write diet labels and to counter check all patients' trays to ensure that it has the correct diet ordered against the diet ordering sheet before sending up to the respective wards.
  • Baking of cakes, pastries and making of 'kuih' for patients' tea-time on special functions held as allocated by Food Services Dietitian or Food Services Officer. To clean oven after each use.
  • Preparation of all raw food items for the next day's breakfast, lunch and dinner. To make sure all food materials are properly covered with clean plastic sheet and kept on the appropriate shelves in the chiller. To cut and prepare fruit for patients.
  • Setting up of all breakfast trays for the next morning with the breakfast diet labels pasted on trays according to requests and wards.
  • Opening and locking up of the Food Services Department ensuring that all electrical equipment's, gas supply, and gas stoves are switched off before going off duty. To sign off and hand the department keys over to the main reception in the absence of the Cook II.
  • To undertake any other duties assigned by the Food Services Dietitian, Food Services Officer or Cook II.
  • To answer telephone calls and queries from ward level regarding diet orders and reply with correct actions.
  • To prepare new admission diet and to ensure the correct diet is sent to the respective patient.
