The Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH), formerly known as the Malaysian Society for Industrial Safety, is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization established in 1971. The Society is dedicated to promoting occupational safety and health in Malaysia, with the Honourable Minister for Human Resources Malaysia as its esteemed Patron.

DESIGNATION: EXECUTIVE

DEPARTMENT: ACCOUNT AND FINANCE

REPORT TO: HEAD OF DEPARTMENT

Key Responsibilities:

1. General Accounting Functions

  • Journal Entries: Prepare and record accurate journal entries.
  • Balance Sheet and Ledger Maintenance: Maintain balance sheet schedules, ledgers, and account reconciliations.
  • Bank Statements: Collect and produce bank statements regularly.

2. Monthly Closings

  • Financial Closings: Assist in the monthly financial closing process.
  • Accounting Services: Support the accurate and timely completion of all accounting services.

3. Financial Reporting

  • Reports Preparation: Assist in preparing accounting reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets for MSOSH and MSOSH Academy.

4. Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Invoices and Payments: Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile invoices and payments with financial records.

5. Support to Management

  • Financial Data: Provide necessary data and analysis to the Head of Department of Finance and General Manager as required.
  • Administrative Support: Assist in administrative duties related to finance and accounting.

6. Compliance and Audits

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in accounting or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
