Who we’re looking for / The role

If you believe that having an efficient and effective supply chain is the backbone of how an enduring and timeless consumer brand emerges and you want to be a part of its early chapters.

This role serves as a key member of our Senior Management Team, serving our core markets Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. You’ll work directly with our CEO and co-founders, supply chain team, cross-functional teams and external third party partners to strategize and execute demand & supply planning, 3rd party production, procurement, import/export, warehouse and logistics, regulatory, and implementing them seamlessly as we scale-up product availability in the channels we cover, eventually encouraging usage amongst consumers in the region.

Objectives: To solidify and optimize Supply Chain operations by building strong foundations and streamlining processes from procurement to delivery to improve efficiency and reduce lead times. This involves establishing and automating processes where possible so as to ensure continuous supply.

To manage cost and ensure product quality: Implement cost-saving measures throughout the supply chain while maintaining or improving quality. This includes diversifying sources of production, negotiating with suppliers, implementing product appropriate quality management systems, optimizing logistics, and managing inventory effectively.

Core Responsibilities:

Supply Chain 360 Operational Management and Process Improvement (30%)

  • Oversee all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, production, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.
  • Develop and manage inventory control processes and demand & supply planning to optimize for stock levels and cashflow, minimize waste, and reduce costs.
  • Continuously assess and improve supply chain processes to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and lower costs.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the supply chain budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness while meeting operational goals.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of supply chain operations and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Production, Procurement, Logistics and Distribution (30%)

  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with contract manufacturers/factories, suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure the procurement/manufacturing of high-quality materials & products at competitive prices.
  • Support NPD/NPI and establish quality control standards: To ensure continuous improvement on products and support new product development, from sourcing, development to production. To work closely with contract manufacturers to implement product quality checks and audit processes.
  • Ensure efficient logistics and distribution processes, including the management of third-party logistics (3PL) providers, to guarantee timely delivery of products to customers.

Regulatory, Import & Export operations (20%)

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards in supply chain operations.
  • Oversee and manage all import and export activities for consumer goods, including coordination with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping lines.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation for all international shipments, including bills of lading, import/export declarations, and certificates of origin.

Team Leadership & Collaboration (20%)

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain & operations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and finance, to align supply chain strategies with overall business objectives.

Skills & Qualifications

  1. 10 or more years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the FMCG or CPG industry.
  2. Strong understanding of supply chain, logistics, 3rd party manufacturing and inventory management concepts and practices.
  3. Able to speak Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking business partners and stakeholders
  4. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools (e.g., ERP systems) is an advantage
  7. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  8. Strategic thinking and ability to align supply chain operations with broader business goals.
  9. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  10. High level of integrity and ethical standards in decision-making.
  11. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
  12. Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures
  13. Relevant certifications such as APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) are a plus
  14. Experience working in a startup or small company environment is a plus, but not required
  15. Willingness to travel for supplier meetings and site visits
