Documentation and Reporting: Skills in maintaining accurate documentation of backup and recovery procedures, preparing management reports on system health and performance, and updating storage design sheets. This also involves developing feasibility reports for technology upgrades or scaling resources. Job Description (JD) Must have technical storage and backup experience coming from an engineering background. • Candidate should have experience in EMC VNX, Unity, Data Domain and ECS, IBM Flash Storage and ICOS (object storage), storage virtualization appliances like EMC VPLEX and IBM SVC. • Experience in Veritas Netbackup Enterprise backup solution administration and support. • Need to manage entire storage & backup infrastructure for VMware farm, physical servers – Windows, Linux, Oracle Solaris and AIX. Should have understanding and experience managing SAN fabric (Brocade), FC SAN, iSCSI and object storage. • Need to respond to storage/backup alerts and provide preventive actions and develop solutions to ensure Service Level Availability targets are met. • Optimization of storage and manage data redundancies to maintain storage system health. • Perform day to day operations of the storage infrastructure, which includes trouble shooting and problem resolution in areas of Information Management, Enterprise Storage. • Review system health and provide management reports on usage and performance in a timely manner. • Prepare and develop feasibility reports for technology upgrade or scaling of resources. • Configure and manage backup and recovery systems and processes. • Perform regular backups of critical data and test to verify recovery capabilities. • Fine tune the storage performance – SAN Storage and SAN Switch • Perform LUN provision for ongoing storage expansion request. • LUN assignment to host with native Windows/Linux MPIO setup. • Perform existing SAN Directors/switch zoning, where applicable • Ensure expansion Storage & SAN Switch equipment cabling connection according to the storage infra design blueprint • Update Storage design sheet when there are any changes. • Perform the capacity planning in storage, switch, replication link. • Support DR team when there is scheduled DR drill test. • Configuration, optimization, relocation, or upgrades on storage system features (i.e. security setting, system fine tune, etc.) and provide advice or recommendation other related devices (i.e. HBA card, etc.) • Monitor backup systems and troubleshoot issues as they arise. • Maintain accurate documentation of backup and recovery procedures and policies. • Develop disaster recovery plans and participate in executing those plans when necessary. • Work with IT team and key stakeholders to establish data retention and archival policies. • Assist in the selection and implementation of new backup and recovery solutions. Key Skills / Knowledge and Behaviors (if applicable) • Associate or Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2-5 years of related experience direct applicable experience. • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment. • Minimum 2-5 years of relevant hands on experience on Hitachi SAN technology. • Working in Windows and Non Windows Server Environment. • Have solid hands on experience in Storage Provisioning and troubleshooting experience with server platforms (Solaris, AIX, Vmware , and AS400). • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with little or no assistance. • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. • 3 years of work experience administering and supporting Dell and IBM storage solutions. • 3years Veritas Netbackup enterprise backup administration and support. Have other equivalent product enterprise backup solution will be good as well. • 3 years of configuring VMWare ESX/vCenter 6.5/ 6.7/ 7.0/8.0 • 3 years of experience with providing Tier 3 technical support to site administrators when integration issues arise. (Veritas and Veeam ) • Experienced in handling multiple byte Backup infrastructure.
