This following describes the requirements of the Integrated Station Management System (ISMS) for the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) Phase 2 Underground Stations.

This project covers Corridor-4 underground stations: Lighthouse, Kutchery Road, Alwarpet, Bharathidasan Road, Boat Club, Nandanam, Panagal Park, Kodambakkam and Thirumayilai station (Corridor-4 related TVS System only) – including tunnels between stations, cut & cover tunnels and ramp sections of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) Phase-2 works.

The Chennai Metro project covers the objectives, guidelines and requirements for the Design Verification and Validation, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning (including system acceptance testing, integrated testing & commissioning and operational acceptance) along with Supply of Operation and Maintenance Manuals, Training of Operation and Maintenance, 2 years of Defect Liability Period, 5 years of Comprehensive Annual Maintenance for ISMS System at each station level including integration at Operation Control Centre & Bus Operation Communication Centre.

ABS Fujitsu, a leading name in the HVAC sector, ABS has provided HVAC solutions to some of the globally renowned corporations. We are seeking a highly skilled Tunnel Ventilation Design Manager. The project encompasses the comprehensive design and construction of elevated and underground stations, tunnels, depots, workshops, and associated civil works. This collaboration aims to integrate advanced engineering solutions, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and sustainability in our infrastructure development endeavours.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design & detailing, design verification & validation management of the Tunnel Ventilation System (TVS), Environmental control system (ECS), Building Automation System (BAS), Fire Life Safety System for the Underground section including UG stations and mid-shafts etc.
  • Checking and review of preliminary designs & compliance by equipment suppliers for the underground section including UG stations and mid-shafts etc. and design criteria and detailed design parameters submitted by equipment suppliers for tunnel including cross passages, UG stations and mid shafts (if any) as well as sub-way Environmental Simulation (SES) & Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) Computer Analysis submitted by DDC for UG section: (a) Normal Operating mode, (b) Congested Operation mode, (c) Emergency Operation mode.
  • Develop & manage of detailed designs including sizing of capacity and quantity of major TVS, ECS and BAS equipment for UG section including tunnel, stations and mid shafts (if any). Major equipment (TVS & ECS) generally include all the tunnel ventilation fans, booster/jet fans, trackway exhaust fans, tunnel pneumatic/electric/electrohydraulic motorized dampers, water/air cooled chillers, chilled and condenser water pumps, cooling tower, Air Handling Unit, Fan Coil Unit etc. and technical submissions and specifications submitted by DDC for major TVS and ECS, BAS and Fire Life Safety equipment for UG section including tunnel, stations and mid shafts (if any).
  • Checking and reviewing of construction tender prepared by subcontractor including TVS, ECS, BAS and fire life safety etc. for UG section before invitation of bids.
  • Attending pre bid conference with the prospective bidders for the construction tenders and draft replies to pre-bid queries and corrigendum.
  • Support in the evaluation of bids and award of construction tender for E&M including supplier and fire life safety system etc. for UG section.
  • Post award of construction tender, supervise and monitor review of designs, technical guaranteed parameters for major equipment submitted by the contractor for issue of procurement orders and check good for construction drawings submitted by the contractor and supervise installation, testing and commissioning of TVS, ECS, BAS, fire life safety system etc in the UG section.
  • Attend correspondence with statutory authority for approval of above system.
  • Interface/coordination with all stake holders (Civil and System Contractors) for design, procurement, installation, testing & commissioning of above systems for UG section.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering
  • 15 – 20 years of post-qualification work experience
  • 10 years of experience working in similar positions/roles, on metro projects with GC/PMC/Client/Supervision or Construction
  • More than 2 metro projects in similar or equivalent positions
  • Fluency in English language
  • Willingness to travel between India & Malaysia for at least 2 years
