Micron is looking for a skilled and meticulous Paralegal to join our team. This role focuses on contract reviews and regulation tracking in Corporate Compliance, Data Privacy, Trade Compliance, Environmental Health & Safety, and AI Governance. You will support our legal team to ensure our commercial contracts align with applicable laws and regulations and assist in developing supporting procedures and compliance documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and other transaction supporting documents.
- Ensure legal documents align with international trade provisions (e.g., EAR, FDPR) for the Trade Compliance team.
- Ensure legal documents align with global data privacy and AI governance provisions (e.g., EU GDPR, EU AI Act, CN PIPL, ID DPDPA) for the Data Privacy & AI Governance team.
- Ensure legal documents align with environmental health & safety provisions (e.g., OSHA, EPA) for the Environmental Health & Safety team.
- Collaborate with legal, HR, procurement, sales, operations, security, IT, and compliance teams to implement legal compliance controls.
- Support legal compliance governance teams by supervising legal documents, assessments, and controls.
- Research, analyze, and detail the applicability of compliance laws and regulations.
- Assist in developing legal compliance training programs and materials for employees.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and databases.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies, law, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of experience as a Paralegal or commercial contract reviewer, preferably in international trade, data privacy, and/or environmental health & safety.
- Understanding of legal regulations related to international trade, data privacy, and environmental health & safety.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Certified Paralegal (CP) or Certified Legal Assistant (CLA).
- Experience in a corporate legal department or law firm.
- Knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts.
- Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools.
