Job Description:

  • Develop and prepare designs for primarily residential solar PV systems, including but not limited to the electrical, structural, and mechanical aspects of the projects.
  • Coordinate the collection of data and incorporate this information into drawings, schematics, and maps. Consult with architects, engineers, surveyors, and workers while preparing and presenting the drawings.
  • Work with the Project Department to confirm the engineering design and determine the locations for DC equipment, AC interconnections at the site, and connections to the existing electrical system.
  • Liaise with Business Development Executives to meet client expectations.
  • Review deliverables at project milestones to ensure the project stays on timeline.
  • Discuss specific dimensions, materials, and methods in the drawings/plans with the team to improve drawing standards over time and avoid any misinformation that could impact project delivery.
  • Provide weekly reports and new project schedules to the Head of Department, proactively updating critical issues such as roof limitations and incomplete site information.
  • Implement best practices and safe work procedures throughout the design process.
  • Add details to PV-related drawings/plans based on knowledge of building techniques. Record, implement, and manage design change requirements, and create manuals and process flows for the department.
  • Collaborate with internal and/or external parties such as C&S, consulting firms, and local authorities on project requirements, applications, and documentation.
  • Design plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software.
  • Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Preferably at least 1 year of experience in electrical installations or the construction industry;.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency in Solar PV system design, AutoCAD, and PVSyst is an advantage.
  • Skilled in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and ERP systems.
  • Customer-oriented with strong problem-solving, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays, if required.
  • Possess a valid driving license (Class D) and be willing to travel.
