Chief Marketing Officer (KL, Malaysia)

The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is responsible for developing and executing the overall marketing strategy to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and innovative marketing practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with business goals to enhance brand presence and market share.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the marketing team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities and trends; utilize insights to inform marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Utilizing analytics tools/software, and critical thinking and analysis, to manage and evaluate digital marketing performance
  • Remain up to date on existing and emerging trends in social media
  • Brand Management: Oversee brand development and positioning; ensure consistency across all marketing channels and touchpoints.
  • Digital Marketing: Drive digital marketing initiatives, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and content marketing.
  • Customer Engagement: Develop customer engagement strategies to build loyalty and enhance customer experience.
  • Budget Management: Manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and tracking return on investment (ROI).
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, and customer service, to align marketing efforts with business objectives.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives; adjust strategies based on performance data.
  • Overseeing promotional campaigns KPIs, ensuring that KPIs are achieved within budget and maximizing profits
  • Tracking conversions for all campaign/events and constantly improve on enhancing conversions to leads generation or sales
  • Building reports using internal data, optimizing overall lead acquisition
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present marketing plans and performance updates to the executive team and stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships/ relationship which includes negotiating on campaign terms or seeking for sponsorships
  • Work with creative and content Teams to create, iterate and identifying winning creative angles and assets
  • Any other Ad-hoc duties assigned by the company

REQUIREMENTS

  • Adaptability in a SME / startup environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related discipline
  • Min 2 years of experience in marketing
  • Deep knowledge of retail and digital marketing, basic knowledge of SEO will be an advantage
  • A clear understanding of social media and how to translate strong campaigns across these channels
  • Good communication skills in both written and spoken English
  • Excellent project, time and people management skills
  • Keen learner and a team player with a great sense of responsibility, proactive with a positive attitude
  • Experience with marketing analytics tools (ie Google Analytics) and media networks
  • Creative thinker with an eye for detail
  • Able to multi-task with excellent organizational skills and meticulous in work assigned
  • Able to work under pressure and meet a tight timeline in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive team player, responsible, self-driven and organised.
