English Language Specialist

Job Overview: The English Language Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing an engaging English language curriculum for students from diverse linguistic backgrounds. The role involves enhancing students' English proficiency, supporting teachers in language instruction, and fostering a positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: • Curriculum Development: Design and adapt English language curricula to meet the needs of students at various proficiency levels. • Instruction: Deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction in English language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening). • Assessment: Evaluate students’ progress through assessments and provide feedback to guide their learning. • Support: Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate language support into their lesson plans. • Professional Development: Provide training and resources for teachers on best practices in language instruction. • Student Support: Work with students individually or in small groups to address specific language challenges. • Cultural Awareness: Promote cultural understanding and appreciation within the classroom to enhance language learning. • Parent Engagement: Communicate with parents about student progress and provide strategies for supporting language development at home. • Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in school meetings and professional development. Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. • Experience: Previous experience teaching English as a second language or in an international school setting is an advantage. • Skills: o Strong communication and interpersonal skills. o Proficiency in curriculum design and instructional strategies. o Ability to work with students from diverse cultural backgrounds. o Familiarity with language assessment tools and methodologies. • Certifications: ESL/EFL certification or relevant teaching credentials.
