Qualifications:
Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, but 1-2 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance is an advantage.

Technical Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., MYOB, SQL Accounting, SAP) is preferred.
  • Understanding of Goods and Services Tax (GST) and other relevant tax regulations in Malaysia is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Malay. Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage for liaising with Mandarin-speaking clients/vendors.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP):

  • Ensure accurate coding and timely payment of invoices.
  • Prepare & manage petty cash reimbursement, and assist in the electronic payments.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies with vendors.

Accounts Receivable (AR):

  • Follow up on outstanding receivables.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate records of collections.
  • Assist in preparing aging reports and monitor overdue accounts for follow-up actions.

Bank Reconciliation:

  • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure alignment of financial records with bank statements.
  • Investigate discrepancies and report any issues to the Direct Superior.

General Ledger Maintenance:

  • Assist in maintaining the general ledger, including data entry of financial transactions.
  • Support the preparation of journal entries and ensure that all entries are accurate and timely.
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.

Financial Reporting and Documentation:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of accounting records for easy retrieval during audits or reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures.

Other Ad-hoc Tasks:

  • Support Senior Accounts staff in special projects or financial analysis as required.
  • Assist in improving accounting processes and identifying inefficiencies in the workflow.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits by ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared and available.
