In this position you will join our environmental and sustainability business, where you will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across all types of sustainability projects - from corporate sustainability, climate risks assessment, policy development, water and food security, circular economy and decarbonisation.

  • As a Sustainability and Climate Change Lead Consultant at Aurecon, you will help our clients develop and implement sustainable and responsible business strategies while reducing their environmental impact.

  • In this hybrid full-time role, you will be based in Petaling Jaya with flexibility to work remotely.

  • Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients on sustainability and climate change projects, providing expert advice and building strong, enduring relationships.

  • Project Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive sustainability and climate change strategies tailored to clients' specific needs.

  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise in areas such as carbon management, circular economy, climate risk assessment and adaptation, environmental impact assessments, and sustainable building design.

  • Market Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the field of sustainability and climate change.

  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with a wide range of stakeholders including government bodies, industry groups, and community organisations.

  • Mentorship: Mentor and develop junior members of the team, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.

  • Thought Leadership: Contribute to Aurecon’s reputation as a thought leader in sustainability by participating in industry events, publishing articles, and engaging in public speaking opportunities.

Your day-to-day tasks will include potential client liaison, expanding client network, analysing data, conducting research, creating reports, and providing advice to clients on embedding sustainability into their business operations.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education: Minimum Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience: Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in sustainability and climate change consulting, with a proven track record of managing complex projects, experience in oil&gas and energy sector is an added advantage

Knowledge: Deep understanding of sustainability principles, climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies, environmental regulations, and industry standards.

Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and proficiency in project management software.

Certifications: Professional certifications such as Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), GARP, GRI or other relevant credentials are highly desirable.

Fluency in English is required, and fluency in Bahasa Malaysia is preferred
