Hospital Information System Subject Matter Expect (HIS SME)

Position Overview:

The HIS Subject Matter Expert provides high-level expertise in the planning, deployment, and optimization of hospital information systems. This role is crucial in aligning HIS functionality with the strategic goals of the hospital, ensuring that systems support clinical and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the strategic planning and deployment of the Hospital Information System, ensuring alignment with hospital objectives.
- Serve as the technical lead for large-scale HIS projects, overseeing implementation from inception to completion.
- Engage with senior leadership to assess needs and recommend HIS solutions that enhance patient care and hospital operations.
- Develop and enforce HIS best practices, standards, and policies.
- Mentor and guide junior HIS experts and IT staff.
- Monitor and report on HIS performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure the HIS is scalable and adaptable to future technological advancements and hospital growth.
- Oversee the integration of HIS with other clinical and administrative systems (e.g., EHR, billing systems).
- Lead efforts to maintain HIS security, ensuring robust protection against data breaches.

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience with hospital information systems, including leadership roles.
- In-depth knowledge of HIS platforms and healthcare IT standards.
- Proven track record of successful HIS implementation and optimization projects.
- Strong leadership, project management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
