As the Tax Manager, you will take ownership of the following key duties and responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance and Reporting - Manage tax filings, including external advisor review, oversee transfer pricing policies and compliance with regulations, and engage with tax authorities as needed.
- Tax Accounting - Manage tax provision calculations, coordinate with finance and external auditors for accurate financial statement reporting of tax positions, and stay updated on tax law changes affecting financial reporting.
- Tax Governance - Manage the Group's tax risk framework and governance by maintaining and refining policies to proactively mitigate tax risks.
- Tax Planning and Advice - Support process improvement and change management for tax reporting, focusing on technology utilization, provide guidance on tax implications of business and regulatory changes.
- Collaboration and Communication - Provide clear tax guidance to business partners while closely collaborating with finance, legal, and operations teams.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in tax planning initiative for organization
- Evaluate tax positions and recommend measures to enhance tax optimization and efficiencies
- Manage and resolve tax related issues within the group
- Conduct tax research to stay informed about relevant regulations and changes that impacted the Group
- Identify, lead, implement and monitor progress of tax related initiatives for the group
- First point of contact for any tax relates issued that is faced by the business units
- Manage & lead tax audit & investigations for the Group
- To prepare and manage timely update of Group Tax matters to the Management
- Implementation of tax policy and controls to ensure effective governance over all taxation matters
- Prepare tax estimations, computations, coordinate filing of tax returns, process tax payments, manage withholding tax, SST, etc. to manage local tax compliance. Maintain tax submission documentations
- Preparation / review of deferred tax asset / liability and current tax disclosures
- Tracking of intercompany transactions of the Group and ensure proper documentation is maintained to support the arm-length pricing
- Prepare ad-hoc tax advice for the group
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in the similar profession
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in an appropriate field and CPA, MICPA, ACCA, CTIM is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in tax planning, transfer pricing, structuring, tax consolidation, indirect taxes, etc.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and communicate complex tax matters effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills to address tax challenges
- Precision in tax calculations and reporting
- Awareness of market trends and regulatory changes
- Able to adapt to changing tax laws and business environments
- Cooperative team player, yet able to work independently and systematically, taking initiative and responsibility
