- Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine the cost implications of design changes.
- Prepare and manage tender documents and contracts for M&E subcontractors and suppliers.
- Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes, ensuring value for money.
- Administer and manage M&E contracts, including issuing and assessing variations and claims.
- Monitor project costs and expenditures, providing regular financial reports to stakeholders.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-control measures.
- Prepare interim valuations, progress reports, and final accounts for M&E works.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other professionals to ensure seamless integration of M&E systems within the overall project.
- Attend site meetings and inspections to monitor progress and resolve any issues related to M&E works.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, variations, and correspondence related to M&E works.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to address queries and provide updates on M&E costs and procurement.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Possesses a bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in mechanical and electrical disciplines, ideally in construction or engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of M&E systems, cost estimation techniques, and contract management principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective reporting and engagement.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address and resolve cost-related issues.
- Possess own transport and willing to travel to site.
