Our Risk and Compliance Generalist - Practice Support team helps PwC assess, design and develop solutions to manage diverse risks. You’ll help PwC develop a consistent, coordinated, and sustainable strategy.

The role as RISQ Business Partner for Advisory (Deals & Consulting) is critical to ensuring adherence to PwC Network standards and regulatory requirements, promoting a culture of risk awareness, and maintaining the highest levels of professional ethics and quality in the delivery of Advisory (Deals & Consulting) services in PwC Malaysia and Vietnam. The candidate will collaborate closely with engagement teams, partners, and senior leadership to ensure risk, quality, and independence compliance in acceptance and delivery of clients and engagements.
The individual will also serve as Chief of Staff to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), supporting the coordination and execution of key strategic priorities and initiatives for the Risk, Independence, Solutions and Quality (RISQ) team.
Key Responsibilities:
RISQ Business Partner for Deals & Consulting
Oversight of PwC Malaysia and Vietnam Advisory (Deals & Consulting) Quality Management Systems and Risk Processes, ensuring that the programmes and requirements designed to manage risks and promote quality services and quality service delivery are implemented effectively.
Prepare an annual Risk and Quality plan by analysing risks facing the Advisory practice and prepare an annual plan to address those risks and execute against it.
Implement and comply with relevant Network Risk Management Policies and supplement them with policies, guidance and procedures, as necessary, to take account of any local legal or regulatory requirements and professional standards and/or respond to any local practices and risks.
Ensure that policies and processes are in place to enable Deals & Consulting teams to provide quality services in a manner that meets relevant stakeholder expectations and complies with applicable professional standards, regulations, legal requirements, and Network Standards and Policies.
Implement a regular training curriculum and other appropriate communications for Deals & Consulting partners and staff, relevant to their respective roles. Lead training sessions for Deals and Consulting partners and staff ensuring a strong culture of compliance and risk awareness.
Ensure that business and engagement quality review programmes are conducted, as required by the PwC Network, to monitor the effectiveness of its quality management systems and processes.
Remediate any identified deficiencies in the operation of its quality management systems or risk processes on a timely basis.
Act as a key advisor to Deals and Consulting Partners and staff offering guidance on risk management practices, potential conflicts and sensitive situations, independence considerations and identifying potential risks in contract terms related to liability, confidentiality, indemnities, and other key clauses.
Conduct periodic reviews of Deals and Consulting engagements to assess compliance with risk, quality, independence, and contractual terms. Provide feedback and coaching to engagement teams to improve risk management practices.
Lead risk management meetings to update Deals and Consulting leaders and prepare reports to local leadership and Global Advisory R&Q.
Chief of Staff to the CRO
Work closely with the CRO to execute strategic initiatives, drive operational efficiency and transformation of the MYVN RISQ team.
Prepare communications for CRO to be delivered within the RISQ team and to all Partners and staff.
Assist in managing the overall performance of the RISQ team, including performance goals setting, staff development and resource allocation.
Oversee key RISQ projects and initiatives from concept to execution, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with the priorities.
Prepare high-level reports and presentations for the CRO to be presented to senior leadership.

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Law, or related field. Professional Certification such as ICAEW / ACCA, CPA/CA Australia.
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in medium size or Big 4 accounting or professional services firms with substantial client services and risk management experience, experience with process improvements and change management is preferred.
Proven experience in a leadership role, managing a team and working directly with senior management.
Strong understanding of legal risks in contract terms, including liability, indemnification, confidentiality, and other key clauses in Letters of Engagement, NDAs, and Hold Harmless Letters.
Demonstrated experience managing large, complex projects and driving strategic initiatives.
Strong knowledge and deep understanding of risk management frameworks, regulatory standards, and independence requirements within the Advisory space.
In-depth understanding of Deals and Consulting services, and other services within a professional services firm.
Have the ability to quickly understand and learn new or complex market trends and related service offerings.
