Job Description: Outdoor Education Executive
Position Overview:
The Executive for Outdoor Education will play a key role in the operational planning and execution of outdoor education programmes, supporting the Head of Department in delivering camps, international expeditions, and extracurricular activities. This role will require strong organizational skills and hands-on involvement in the day-to-day management of outdoor activities and student engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme Support: Assist in the planning and implementation of outdoor education programmes, camps, and expeditions, ensuring smooth logistical operations.
Material Preparation: Create and gather materials specific to each camp or outdoor programme, ensuring resources are readily available and well-organized.
Route & Site Scouting: Scout locations, routes, and areas prior to leading or assisting with camps and trips, ensuring safety and suitability.
Participant Safety & Enjoyment: Ensure the safety, satisfaction, and well-being of participants during all outdoor activities.
Lesson Planning: Support the development of lesson plans and activities that align with outdoor education objectives and provide engaging learning experiences.
Guideline Adherence: Ensure all participants and staff follow the established camp and trip leader guidelines.
Emergency Handling: Assist with handling emergencies and contingencies, ensuring swift and appropriate responses.
Collaboration: Work with the HoD and staff to improve programme delivery and innovate new activities for outdoor education.
Reporting: Assist in maintaining records and reports related to camp attendance, incidents, and feedback for future programme improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Outdoor Education, or related field.
Experience in outdoor education or related activities.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a team and take direction from the HoD.
Confidence in managing groups of students in outdoor environments.
First Aid and CPR certifications (Wilderness First Aid preferred).
A proactive and positive attitude with a genuine interest in outdoor education and student development.
