Network Engineer (with Firewall Expertise)

Key Responsibilities:
*Design, configure, and deploy functional networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN).
*Collaborate with team members to implement new networking technologies and improve system efficiency.
*Configure, manage, and maintain firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Juniper) to secure the network.
*Create, review, and update firewall rules, ensuring adherence to security policies and best practices.
*Monitor firewall logs and troubleshoot firewall-related issues.
*Implement and monitor security measures for network protection, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs.
*Collaborate with security teams to respond to security incidents and perform risk assessments.
*Provide Level 2/3 support for network-related issues, including routing, switching, and security incidents.
*Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal downtime and quick recovery.
*Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, firewall rules, and system changes.
*Prepare reports on network performance, security incidents, and ongoing projects.
*Monitor network performance and optimize it through the analysis of performance data and proactive adjustments.
*Use network management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) to ensure the availability, performance, and security of the network.

Qualifications & Skills:
*Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
*Proven experience as a Network Engineer with at least 2-5 years working with firewalls.
*Hands-on experience with firewall technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Check Point).
*Solid understanding of networking protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, MPLS, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
*Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting firewalls, switches, and routers.
*Experience with VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network monitoring tools.
*Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) is a plus.
*Firewall vendor certifications (e.g., Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, Fortinet NSE, Check Point CCSA) are highly desirable.
